University of Virginia - BA in Mathematics.  University of New Hampshire - MA in Mathematics.

Your current day job?
Albemarle High School Mathematics Department Chair, primarily AP Calculus teacher.

Rowing Experience?
Over 30 years rowing and 20 years coaching:  high school, college, pre-elite – most recently master’s sculler at Rivanna Rowing Club.

Best memory as a rower?
Practicing against Georgetown and Navy as a high school rower (and beating them), rowing on the Rivanna as a student at the University of Virginia,
winning the “Efficiency” trophy at Master’s nationals in 2004, racing with my doubles partner, Hilary Kerner, at the Head of the Charles in 2008 (and placing second even after a poor steering job by the bow person (me!)),
the END of EVERY max heart rate workout, and many, many more….


Best memory as a coach (if applicable)?
My 1994 boys lightweight crew placing third at the Stotesbury Regatta (biggest high school regatta in the country), my 1996 girls Varsity 8 win (and JV eight placing third at the same regatta) at the Scholastic Nationals,
my master’s B and C eights WINNING at their first USROWING Master’s National Regatta in 2000, and many, many, many, more…..


"When I am not on the water I am..."?
Running, watching my kids play soccer, teaching calculus, hanging out at home…  Wishing I was on the water.
